Tracking and Traps

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about New Zealand native birds. We have been putting down ink pads down in the tracking tunnel it doesn't kill them but it figures out what we have around our school grounds. We put two down by the school chickens and two down by the river. Three of them had the peanut butter eaten but it didn't show the footprints. One of the traps had rat or mice footprints in it. Kauri came and taught us how to set up traps and she also gave us the ink pads as well and taught us how to use them.
The one that got the footprints in it, we have put a rat trap there so we can catch whatever is down by the river.
